Four Seasons Resort Nevis

May 3, 2011 | Our Travels | 0 comments

I had always heard amazing reviews of the Four Seasons Resort on Nevis so we decided to take a day trip from St. Kitts to take a tour of the property. Ferries carry passengers and cars several times a day from St. Kitts to Nevis so it was easy to get to this island. St. Kitts and Nevis are one country but have different local governments. On Nevis, you will never see a cruise ship or a US chain restaurant, unlike St. Kitts. There are only 12,000 full-time residents.

The jewel of the island is the Four Seasons Resort. After being closed for 2 years due to hurricane damage, it recently re-opened in October, 2010. In keeping with the feel of the island, it is understated and casually elegant.  It is the perfect island retreat.

You can choose to stay in hotel room style accommodations with balconies overlooking the ocean or the island. The island view rooms offer spectacular views of the mountain so after spending the day looking at the ocean it is a nice change of scenery for a lot less money than the ocean view rooms.

Private villa style residences can be rented out as well. These multiple-bedroom homes offer full kitchens, living areas and 2 or more bedrooms. They are perfect for families or multiple couples who want more of a private experience with all of the hotel amenities nearby.

There are several restaurants on property, ranging from beach casual to smart casual. The hotel has done away with a jacket requirement even in their more formal dining venues. We had lunch at the beach casual restaurant and all of the food was delicious served with the usual Four Seasons high-level of service.

The resort has a main pool area and a quiet, adult only pool as well. They offer lots of activities for children of all ages so parents can feel comfortable bringing the kids. They offer activity rooms and daycare services for the young kids and even an activity room for teens. The Spa is world-class with private, outdoor areas where you can enjoy a massage and the Ocean breezes all at the same time.

For a relaxing getaway from it all, I highly recommend the Four Seasons Resort on Nevis. To have us plan a vacation at this resort for you, please contact us at (480) 629-5559 or Pam@TheArtofVacationing.com.</div
