Marriott’s Club Son Antem is located on the island of Mallorca (or Majorca). This was the final Marriott timeshare for us to tour in Europe. We are staying at the adjacent hotel using rewards points.
This timeshare property shares facilities with the Marriott Son Antem Golf and Spa Resort, located on 500 acres. There are 2 18-hole golf courses, 236 villas, a 165-room hotel, 13 pool areas, a spa, 2 restaurants and 2 walking/running trails. Golfers will enjoy this property since it is so convenient to walk out of your villa and on to the golf course. The West course has just been approved to be on the Spanish PGA tour. This narrow course is more challenging than the East course with its wide open fairways. Owners receive a 20% discount for playing golf and 10% discount at the spa for treatments. The resort is about 20 minutes to the closest beach.
The villas are mainly 2-bedroom, 2-story townhomes—some have a Master bedroom on the ground floor and some have 2 bedrooms upstairs. They are the smallest timeshares in the Marriott system measuring about 950 sq. ft. but they do not feel too small.
Each villa has an outdoor patio with a grill and some have the added bonus of a terrace on the upper floor. All villas look over the golf course or undeveloped land.
There is a small pool for every 16 villas.
Owners can use the pool areas at the adjacent hotel and spa. There is an outdoor pool at the hotel and an indoor and outdoor pool at the spa. Unlike most spa pools, children have full access to the spa pools. The most tranquil location is at the spa in their Holistic Treatment area with its 7 different steam and sauna rooms–there is a fee of 10 euro for the day.
The island is much less congested than the Costa del Sol. There are spectacular drives that you can take through the mountains and along the sea. Palma, only 15 minutes drive, is an exciting city with lots of sites, shops and restaurants. If you enjoy golfing on your vacation and want to experience island life in Spain, this is a good choice for a vacation destination.
